OBJECTIVE
To ensure that all furniture, equipment and fittings in guest rooms are meticulously cleaned each day using designated cleaning agents.
PROCEDURE
- Using a cloth sprayed with a dusting solution, carefully dust items located on walls or those positioned high off the floor.
- Work in a clockwise direction around the room.
- Dust the headboard if applicable.
- Pay attention to picture frames and ensure they are free of dust.
- Dust lamps, shades, and light bulbs.
- Thoroughly clean the air conditioning unit.
- Polish mirrors by spraying glass cleaner on a clean cloth and wiping down the mirror surface.
- Inspect the windows closely and clean them with glass cleaner if necessary.
- Address the window sill, ensuring it is dust-free.
- Dust and polish the dresser, including opening the drawers and dusting the inside surfaces.
- For the nightstand, start with the top surface, then move down the sides, legs, and base.
- Clean and dust the telephone. Verify proper operation by listening for the dial tone, and use spray disinfectant on the mouthpiece and earphone.
- Dust the top and sides of the television set and its stand.
- Clean the front of the television set using glass cleaner. Confirm that the television is in good working condition.
- Dust any tables, beginning with the top surface and working down to the legs and base.
- Address wood or chrome surfaces on chairs, starting from the top and working down the legs.
- If applicable, clean both sides of the connecting door to an adjoining guest room.
- Wipe down doors from top to bottom, polish the knobs, and remove any smudges around the knob area.
- Carefully clean the closet:
- Wipe the closet rod.
- Dust hangers and hooks.
- Clean and dust both sides of the closet door.
- Address both the top and underside of the closet shelf.
- Ensure light switches are wiped clean, and remove any smudges from the surrounding wall area.
- Thoroughly clean both sides of the guest room door.
